Evernote has teamed up with the African Technology Foundation (ATF) on the ATF-Evernote road show which will culminate in the selection of an African app company to represent the continent on an all-expense paid week-long trip to the 2014 Evernote Platform Awards.

The search will find and showcase the top African applications that integrate with the Evernote platform and open API, and feature them as part of the Evernote Platform Awards which was launched last month. The Evernote Platform Awards was introduced to encourage developers and design teams from across the world to build apps that connect with Evernote. The best applications will be featured in the Evernote App Center for public voting beginning July 31, 2014.

This year, as a result of the new wave of tech talent from across Africa, Evernote has created a specific category to recognise the best African-founded application that integrates with Evernote. So the ATF-Evernote road show which will kick off in Lagos, Nigeria on Monday, June 30th.

Monday, June 30th – Evening Press Event

Tuesday, July 1st – Evernote/ATF Technology summit at iDEA Centre,

Informal networking event with the tech community at CcHUB (to be confirmed).

ATF activities in Nigeria will round up with an invitation-only dinner event on the evening of July 2nd. The road show then moves on to Nairobi, Kenya on July 4th and 5th, to end the week in Capetown, South Africa on July 7th.

The winning African app company will get the opportunity to the opportunity to visit Evernote HQ, and present their application live on stage during the Evernote Conference, EC4, in San Francisco; as well as represent Africa at the 2014 Evernote Platform Awards to be held in Silicon Valley  later this year and get 12 months worth of mentoring and advisory services from the ATF.
