If it wasn’t real to you before today, it’s now official. Nokia is finally going Android.

Nokia announced today a new range of devices during their MWC Press Conference in Barcelona – the Nokia X, Nokia X+ (more memory) and Nokia XL (5-inch display). They look nothing like Android on the surface – with UI elements borrowed from both Asha and Lumia range – and ship preinstalled with Microkia’s alternative to Google services like Here Maps, Outlook and Skype. That also means there will be no Google Play Store access; you have to install apps from the new Nokia Store. Users will however be able to install apps from other 3rd party stores.

The Nokia X, Nokia X+and Nokia XL are all attractively priced at €89, €99 and €109 respectively. That’s N25,000 at the most. The first of the 3, the Nokia X will be available immediately in all “growth markets” while the latter 2 are slated to be available by Q2.
