If listening to the same sounds by popular artists ever gets old, Pliby is a way to discover new and upcoming artists, making their way up from underground.

On Pliby, users can discover new artists, become producers by ‘approving’ the artists to help them leave the underground stage to become known artists, dedicate music they love to their friends, find people with like musical tastes, and of course, rank African Music. While artists can use Pliby to start a musical career, allow the users/fans give them true popularity; and discover or add new fans.

How does Pliby intend to differentiate from the likes of Spotify, Deezer, and Soundcloud, not to mention a host of other Africa-specific online music platforms? According to the founders, a special fraud eliminating algorithm called SALOMON, and their focus on discovering underground artists in Africa.

Officially launched on 1st May, 2013, Pliby

was created by Beninoise co-founders, Boris Cletus Padonou and Prudence Ogatcha. The startup presented their venture to investors at Angel Fair West Africa 2014, held at Victoria Island, Lagos.

Pliby is currently available for users in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Benin, Uganda, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Gabon, Cameroun and Tanzania.
