Just two months after it first launched exclusively in Indonesia, the Blackberry Z3 is finally here in Nigeria.

The Z3 is Blackberry’s bold take on the low cost smartphone market. Essentially a stripped down version of the Blackberry Z10, the Z3 will be in direct competition with mid-range Android smartphones in the market.

Here’s a first look at the Blackberry Z3.

Spec Highlights

Blackberry-Z3-box

You would be forgiven if you mistook the Blackberry Z3 for the higher end Blackberry Z30, when indeed it is more similar to the Z10 than the Z30. In comparison with the Z10, the Z3 has:

  • A bigger display – 5 inches but with lower pixel density
  • Less memory – 8GB internal, 1.5 GB RAM, as against 16GB/2GB on the Z10
  • Lower resolution camera – 5MP primary camera and 1.1MP front camera.
  • Less processing power – 1.2 GHz Dual-core snapdragon processor
  • Non-removable 2500 mAh battery touted to last 15.5 hours of talk time. The Z10’s 1800 mAh battery had a 10 hour rating

The Z3 also comes pre-installed with an FM Radio. The battery and display size are the two key areas the Z3 out-specs the Z10. Spec nerds can access the full spec comparison details over here.
